Lansdowne is an unexplored small Hill station situated in the Pauri Garhwal District of Uttrakhand state in Northern India. Lansdowne was found by Lord Lansdowne who was then the Viceroy of India (1888-1894). Lansdowne was developed by the Britishers as a Regiment training centre for the recruiters of Garhwal Rifles which is now serving as headquarters of Great Garhwal Rifles of Indian Army and is also known as Lansdowne Cantonment. Over the last decade, this small hill station has become very popular amongst tourists not only from India also from other countries for their vacations.
